Shifting into 2018

The new year is a time for reflection, intentions and new beginnings. The first few weeks of 2018 have been about rebalancing as I return from cold, snowy Maine and rediscover my routine. I loved the quiet and stillness that Maine had to offer - I was literally forced to slow down. I enjoyed long walks in the sheltered woods and blustery ones on the wide open beaches with family and the dog alongside me.  Then we hustled indoors to crowd around our new fireplace. This fireplace was burning every day - Little House on the Prairie style! I also relish re-discovering structure and rhythm back home in the city, although the new year has ushered in some shifts and changes.

Saying Good-Bye to Helix:

The Helix Healthcare Group officially closed its doors this month after helping thousands of people over the past four years deal with trauma, addiction and mental health issues. It has been a tremendous privilege to have been a part of this organization and to work alongside such dedicated and empathetic people. I am also grateful to have connected with so many courageous and inspiring clients and to have witnessed their growth and transformation.

Introducing the Healing Therapeutic Alliance

Exciting News: A core group of multi-disciplinary practitioners from Helix have banded together to form the Healing Therapeutic Alliance. This newly formed network of professionals is renting space at 55 Eglinton Avenue East(TTC friendly, just down the street from Helix).  I have learned that it is neither the building nor the organization that makes the magic but the human beings.

I will be providing relational somatic counselling, yoga, and mindfulness exploration on Wednesdays at this new space beginning Wednesday, January 31st

I can also connect you with any of my skillful colleagues made up of psychotherapists, sound healers, addiction counselors, trauma specialists and a massage therapist. Our new website is launching soon! For the next few weeks, you may book a session by e-mailing me, however, stay tuned as I will be shifting shortly to a new booking app for greater ease and accessibility.

Changes at 889 Yoga

We say a heartfelt farewell to owners Christine and Emily Russell who established and guided 889 for over a decade. I will miss them as leaders, however, Signy Gissurardottir, 889’s seasoned manager, has confidently and effortlessly slid into the new role of owner. I have let go of my Tuesday evening Flow 1 class in order to be home with my family, however, I am maintaining my popular Tuesday and Thursday morning classes and my candlelight restorative experience on Monday evenings. I continue to teach many privates out of the private studio at 889 Yoga. If this option piques your interest, please reach out to me or 889 Yoga.

India Calls

On February 9th I travel to Southern India with my good friend, amazing yoga teacher and adventurer Lisa Messina. After having visited Northern India, I feel keen to experience the wonders of the south. When I return I will be sure to share my top lessons and experiences with you.

My Wish for You this New Year

Nourish, respect and celebrate all that you are. Part of my own path has been to appreciate and accept myself just as I am. May you continue to listen deeply to your own inner wisdom as you welcome peace and wholeness. As Lao Tzu writes, "When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you." For a full list of all of my offerings please click on a specific topic of interest below.
