Hello December and Warmest Greetings
I would like to share with you a little bit about what I am up to, and remind you of the yoga classes that I am teaching along with the private sessions that you can book with me to give yourself extra attention and care.
Also, I would to extend a little holiday gift to you – an audio recording of an affectionate breathing exercise that will offer your support throughout this often hectic season. Click HERE to access it.
As a lifelong learner, I am currently a student in an 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion course through the Centre for Mindfulness Studies. As you know, I am passionate about mindfulness as it has helped me tremendously in my own life. I took this course because I am intrigued with the element of compassion. Specifically, I am interested in growing my capacity to treat myself with care and understanding, rather than harsh judgment. Invariably, what I study makes its way into my classes and private sessions.
Catch me teaching public classes sprinkled with kindness. Below is my teaching schedule. I especially recommend candlelight restorative yoga for the month of December.

I am delighted to be offering Relational Somatic Counselling at 889 Yoga, Helix Healthcare Group, or in the privacy of your own home. These are individual healing sessions focusing on body/mind health. If you are interested, please read more on my website and reach out to me.
The holidays can be especially busy and, while joyful and fun, this time can also feel stressful. I suggest deliberately caring for you. Self-care is not selfish, it is self-preservation. Here are four tips to maintain health and sanity:
- Sleep: Get enough of it. Turn electronic devices off 60 minutes before bedtime. 80% of the time, try to stick to a regular bedtime. Lack of inadequate sleep is associated with a shortened life span. Winter is naturally a time of slowing down and introspection.
- Move: Find a way of moving your body that you enjoy. That could be walking, yoga or going to the gym. Movement reduces stress hormones that make us feel poorly, and produces endorphins that make us feel good.
- Find Nature: Get out into it. Feel the sun on your face (wear sunscreen!). Embrace the brisk air. Nature is healing and grounding and is the opposite of technology.
- Be Inspired: Do things that nourish you and feel good! Read a book, paint, knit, call a good friend, get a massage, watch a movie, take a new course, walk on a trail, enjoy a meal with a loved one, meditate or cook. You deserve it. This is soul food.
Peace,
